Germany's insider trading regime is overseen by the Federal Financial Supervisory Authority (BaFin). Under the EU Market Abuse Regulation (MAR), persons discharging managerial responsibilities (PDMRs) at German-listed issuers must notify BaFin and the issuer of every transaction in the company's financial instruments within three business days. BaFin publishes these notifications on its public register. Thresholds apply: notifications are only required once cumulative transactions exceed €20,000 in a calendar year. Germany's enforcement of MAR is considered among the most rigorous in the EU.
